LRE FLYERS
Our own little flying club.

Picture

LRE FLYERS is a startup flying club forming to support the aviators of Lake Riverside Estates and the surrounding communities with a fun-to-fly aircraft, budget conscience operating expenses, great members, and based at our beautiful LRE airpark community.

We are in the process of gathering interested members, developing a budget, identifying the type of aircraft to purchase, and the formation of the legal entity to handle it all.  If this sounds interesting to you, we'd love to get your input.  Please take our survey below!

NOTE: we are looking for an LRE member whom might want to finance their plane to the club.
Please contact us!

-FAQ's-

Whats the benefit of being in the LRE FLYERS flight club?
  • Cheaper and less time consuming way to own and enjoy an airplane.
  • Close community of flying members.

How many member shares will be in the club?
  • Minimum 2, maximum 10.

Will this be a shared ownership(equity) club?
  • Yes, everyone's share will have an equal ownership portion of the club plane and property.

How many airplanes will the club own?
  • Minimum 1, maybe 2 if the club membership/budget allows for it.

Does the club share owner have to be the pilot or can they assign their flying to another pilot?
  • We're looking into that..

What are the minimum pilot licensing requirements to be in the club?  Can you take student pilots?
  • We have a good number of LRE property owners that have started their flight training but are not fully certified yet and would like to be. Thus we are exploring the difference in insurance costs for our policy to have pilots with a minimum requirements of a private pilot's license vs allowing student pilots to join the club.
  • If there is a pressing desire for student pilots to come into the flight club, especially LRE owners, we want to make a way for that to happen.

Does the club have an instructor?
  • Yes, our club president is a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI and CFII)

Will the club allow for instruction?
  • While SOME instruction may be given as necessary, so as to be good neighbors, we would ONLY utilize the LRE airport for taking off to initiate the instruction and then coming back to finish the instruction.  The bulk of the time of the instruction would take place at other airports (French Valley airport, Hemet airport, etc).
  • Biannual Flight Reviews (BFR's), instrument recurrencie, airplane checkouts, etc can most certainly be done by the club CFI/CFII

How will the airplane(s) maintained?
  • Annual inspections will be performed by an authorized maintenance shop at French Valley airport (F70) just minutes from LRE.
  • Progressive inspections will be performed by our club president who is an A&P (as time allows) or by the authorized maintenance shop at French Valley airport

Will the airplane(s) be hangared?
  • Yes, we will have a hangar to keep the airplane/equipment in and meet in as necessary.

What would the club cost structure look like?
  • Reasonable initial equity share buy-in of club plane/property
  • Reasonable monthly dues
  • A reasonable engine-running hourly rate for use of the airplane

Would that be a wet  (including fuel) or dry (NOT including fuel costs) hourly rate?
  • Not sure yet.

How will the airplane be purchased?
  • Given the reasonable initial equity share buy in cost of the club plane/property, a small down payment will be made on the airplane purchase and then funding(loan) acquired to finance the remaining airplane balance amount.

Is there aviation fuel available at LRE airport?
  • Not yet, you would have to get additional fuel after takeoff or before landing in French Valley airport, Hemet airport, etc as necessary
  • The cheapest AND closest fuel around is at French Valley airport (F70).
  • BUT if we acquire a sportplane of some sort instead, then we can use premium, high-octane UL91 gas from the gas station only a couple miles up the road from LRE.

What if I want to get out of the club at some point?
  • You must sell your share in the club.  The club will help advertise and assist you in this as possible.
